What more can we say than, THANK YOU 👏 This could be a long post so grab a cuppa and get comfy! ☕
Firstly, thank you to the 96 players who participated in yesterday's charity event to raise funds for NHS Charities Together. A particular thank you to everyone for following our updated Covid-19 Guidelines. In total, you raised a fantastic £2,000 which will be donated to NHS Charities Together 👏👏💷💷
To our fantastic greens staff, who have worked tirelessly over the last 4 weeks in preparation for yesterday's event. Even putting in a 13-hour shift on Friday to make sure the rough and fairways were pristine, never mind the greens which were double cut and rolled on Saturday morning. The greens are currently the best we have seen them all season and are nicely complemented by some VERY challenging pin positions. ⛳
To Alan, who was responsible for those frightening pins and for being our official starter, ensuring the day run smoothly from the first group at 07:20 to the last returning group at 18:40. Your commitment is tremendous. 👏
To Richard Lyons who manned the charity hole which raised £297.00 in the morning stint under his watchful eye.
To Adva Optical Networks, in particular, Shaun Finnegan who donated £200 and sponsored our Charity Hole.
To Charlotte's Florist, Hatfield, who sponsored our Ladies Nearest the Pin on the 17th hole and kindly donated a £25 gift voucher for the winner, Mary Cresham.
To Morrison's Supermarket, Goole, who donated a food hamper which was the prize for the Nearest the Pin in 2 shots on the 9th hole. This was won by a fantastic shot by Nigel Colbeck.
To Tesco, Selby, who donated 100 bottles of water to keep everyone refreshed along with 12kilo of bananas! 🍌
To 2019 Captain Dan Mitchell who donated more water and soft drinks which were much appreciated as the temperature rose throughout the day.
In all, £49 was donated as thanks for the refreshments.
To Steve Fitt who has been collecting lost balls on the course, cleaning them up and selling them yesterday. £49 was raised from ball sales alone!
Finally, to McDonald's, Goole, who donated 2 X Meal for Four vouchers.
Well, we think that's all of the thank you's 🤞Apologies if we have missed anyone, you know who you are!
Onto the winners... 🏆
The nearest the pin on the 5th was won by James Boyle.
The nearest the pin in 2 shots on the 9th was won by Nigel Colbeck.
The nearest the pin on the 14th was won by Stephen Taylor-Heath.

Onto the final standings of the 4BBB competition:
3rd place: A Whawell, J Maher, R Brooke, R Horbury (101 points) 🥉
2nd place: J Keyword, G Rea, T Macnulty, D Sykes (109 points) 🥈
1st place: J Tordoff, K Hepworth, R Anderson, M Almunshi (112 points) 🥇
Finally, a special mention to Neil Blackford who hit arguably the shot of the day on the 9th. Neil's 2nd shot came to rest in the top of another players bag (photo attached)! Unfortunately, he declined to play it as it lied and the ball was dropped from above its original resting place. After a small chip, Neil finished the hole with a fantastic 4.
Once again, a very very big thank you to everyone who took part in the event and made it a huge success.
