To further protect our fairways from damage during the winter months, so that they can be at their best during other periods of the year, we are implementing Winter Rules as of Monday 30th October 2017.
When 'Winter Rules' are in play (as indicated by the signage near the first tee and on the website) you MUST use one of the following options when your ball is in the fairway:
1. Use an artificial grass fairway mat - for examples, see:
2. Tee up your ball using a short tee (not a long driver tee - please use your discretion).
3. Take your ball directly into the left or right side of the fairway (whichever is closer) at the same distance from the hole and place it in the semi-rough.
As a further note, to further protect our golf course from damage during the winter months, so that they can be at their best during other periods of the year, we are implementing rules regarding the use of golf trolleys.
When 'Winter Rules' are in play (as indicated by the signage near the first tee and on the website) you MUST use one of the following options:
1. Use a carry bag
2. Use winter ‘hedgehog’ wheels on your golf trolleys** - for examples, see:
**We understand that it might take some time for members to get hold of these hedgehog wheels, but please try and obtain them as soon as possible; if members choose not to carry, we expect members to be using hedgehog wheels by Monday 30th October 2017.
If you already have hedgehog wheels available, please start to use these at the earliest convenience before the above date.
Watch this video to see why hedgehog wheels are so important for golf clubs in winter:
Please also try to use available paths wherever possible when using a golf trolley or when carrying your bag.
Hedgehog wheel covers can also be purchased from the club for £20.00, please speak to Matthew Forde or Denise Smith for details.
Many thanks for your co-operation.
