Here we go ... What a day that was
Can I just thank all my friends, members, guests for attending my Captain's day at Drax Golf Club yesterday.
You all made it special for me and my team of helpers from my wife Donna, along with my sister in law Amanda Corbett who fed 92 golfers and were brilliant at the halfway house. Gail Jackson for coming to our rescue with additional beer to keep them all watered in the heat.
Alan Puddyford for his sterling work on the putting green running the crazy putting competition.
To my Vice Captain Liam who worked tirelessly too all day taking complementary pictures of all the players and blowing up balloons and helping wherever needed
Samuel Blackham Junior Captain, again for all his help with the balloon for the mulligans.
Rhodes Bakers who provided their legendary Twists and gave me a discount for charity. Everyone commented on how wonderful they were. Especially filled with the Beef and Ham provide by Chris Huby from Moorends Butchers again, discounted as a donation towards the charity.
McDonald's Thorne who provided free of charge all the cups and lids for the coffee. Thank you for your kind generosity
Haydn Hicks and Paul Hunt who travelled from Cumbria - and donated £50 of vouchers for the raffle to enable to buy wine. This along with all your kind donations of bottles etc on the day. You all know who you are
Lastly to the greens staff Mark Sneap, Mark Clarke and Liam Smith who had the course looking magnificent.
Without you all it couldn't have happened and I am happy to say that with all your support we raised over £1300 for Charity.
Regards
Captain Kev.
Still keeping the fun
